Saint Andrew's School is seeking American Red Cross Certified Lifeguards for the 2024 summer camp season. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • providing swim instruction to campers aged 3 to 13

  • maintaining constant surveillance of swimmers

  • adherence to all rules and policies set by the camp and Director of Summer Aquatics

  • helping to maintain a pool deck that is neat, clean and hazard free

  • ability to act calmly and effectively in an emergency situation and follow verbal and written instructions

  • responsible for acting in a professional manner and promoting safety protocols at all times

  • ability to evaluate swim level and document progress

  • displays an upbeat and positive attitude

Required to attend in-person training sessions or mandatory meetings on:

  • 5/28 from 5:30pm to 9:30pm (Staff Orientation)

  • 5/29from 5:30pm to 9:30pm (Staff Orientation)

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • must possess an American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard or willingness to obtain certification prior to the start of camp

  • must be 16 years old or older

  • must display an upbeat and positive attitude

  • must be available all nine weeks of camp (June 3to August2, 2024)

  • possess leadership skills and responsible decision making

  • act as a positive role model to campers and counselors while representing Saint Andrew's School
