Position Summary:
The Head Athletic Trainer provides medical coverage and care to all middle school and upper school athletics. It is a vital role that ensures the health, safety, and performance of our student-athletes.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides and coordinates medical coverage for middle school and upper school athletics

Travels with high risk/contact teams to away contests

Supervises and manages the collection of required FHSAA participation forms through Magnus Health and communicates with students, parents and coaches for incomplete forms

Conduct thorough assessments of injuries, provide immediate care and treatment

Develop and implement injury prevention programs, including strength and conditioning exercises, flexibility routines, and proper warm-up techniques

Manage and maintain sports medicine equipment and supplies, ensuring they are readily available and in good condition

Coordinates medical appointments

Communicates with parents about student injuries

Submits injury reports to business office and completes injury/rehabilitation documentation

Assists Saint Andrew’s nurses with athletic related issues.

Establishes current and appropriate medical protocols and emergency action plans

Assists with rehabilitative needs of student-athletes

Supervises assistant athletic trainer

Assists with assuring all athletic coaches are CPR/AED certified

Additional responsibilities to include other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
