Description

The Executive Director is responsible for overall management and administration of this non-profit agency serving older and disabled individuals and families with young children.  The agency has a budget over $3,000,000 with funding from a variety of public and private sources as well as client fees and donations.  It has a staff of approximately 60 full and part-time workers and over 500 volunteers. Its services include senior nutrition such as home delivered and congregate meals, information and assistance, AmeriCorps Senior programs such as RSVP and Foster Grandparent, parenting classes and home visits to teach parenting skills, plus volunteer management.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Annual preparation and intermittent modifications of agency budget; presentation to the board of directors for approval.
  • Monitor and approve program expenditures in accordance with approved budget; submit financial reports to board.
  • Assures completion of annual audit and other required fiscal and services reports.
  • Negotiates contracts for agency subject to Board approval with the Kenosha County Human Services Department and other local funding entities.
  • Assures that programs and services operate in accordance with applicable regulations and conditions of service contracts.
  • Investigation, preparation and submission of grants for support of agency activities.
  • Development and implementation of fund raising activities.
  • Marketing and public relations activities to promote the agency's services.
  • Provide leadership and support for agency volunteer services.
  • Overall responsibility for recruitment, supervision, evaluation and termination of staff in accordance with the agency's Personnel Policies, Equal Employment Opportunity and other appropriate state and federal guidelines.
  • Preparation and update of Personnel Policies Manuals, job descriptions and salary schedule for staff.
  • Oversee maintenance and upkeep of agency office building.
  • Liaison to the Board of Directors and its standing committees.
  • Liaison to community including cooperating public and private agencies and institutions.
  • Other related activities as authorized or directed by the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a BA, ideally with an MBA, MPA, or related advanced degree
  • Five years of non-profit leadership experience
  • Significant board development, fundraising, marketing/branding and fiscal management experience is necessary
  • A financially savvy and politically astute leader with the ability to set clear priorities, delegate, and guide investment in people and systems; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills, which support and enable sound decision making
  • Excellent coalition building skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders; a persuasive negotiator able to achieve consensus amongst differing opinions
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills and the experience and proclivity to be an outgoing spokesperson, relationship builder, and fundraiser

 

Salary Range

As the Executive Director the salary range is competitive at $95-$115K plus a generous PTO schedule which includes paid holidays, sick leave, paid medical, dental, and vision, short term disability and a $25K life insurance policy.  A retirement plan offers a 1% company contribution after two-years of service.
