POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Craft and Design Center Director (EPC) or Associate Program Director (SMR), Craft Shop Instructors will develop, implement, and oversee craft programs. This role will provide excellent customer service and engage with guests of all ages.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Teach arts and crafts to participants of all ages and abilities in a safe and supportive environment.
• Maintain adequate inventory and supplies for all craft areas.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and foster a positive guest experience.
• Anticipate, prevent, and respond effectively to safety concerns.
• Communicate with guests and team members in a professional and respectful manner.
• Use the computer system to assist guests with craft purchases and transactions.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of craft programs.
• Assist with daily cleaning and organization of program spaces.
• Support other departments or program areas as needed.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in arts and crafts or a background in Art Education preferred.
• Experience working with children strongly desired.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Fluent in English, with strong communication skills.
• Enjoys engaging with people in a collaborative setting.
• Must hold current First Aid and CPR certifications.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

• Work is primarily indoors in a craft studio environment with moderate noise levels.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform light physical activity such as bending, lifting, or carrying materials up to 25 lbs.
• Frequent interaction with guests of all ages in a busy and dynamic setting.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
