The typical starting salary for this position is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, acquired skills, experience, education, and certifications/designations. This position may be eligible for annual merit increases and participation in our bonus program.

 

 

 

What are we looking for?

Columbia Insurance is searching for a Customer Service Representative. In this position you will be providing prompt, courteous and accurate information/service to Property/Casualty customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  • Respond to inquiries from agents, insureds, mortgage companies and company personnel regarding policies, endorsements, billings and payments.
  • Make appropriate response to written and verbal correspondence and obtain necessary information within prescribed limits of authority.
  • Change payment plans on direct/agency billed policies.
  • Accurately collect and process information for ACH, credit and debit card payments.
  • Process refunds, agent statements and checks as needed.
  • Approve reinstatements within prescribed limits of authority.
  • Other duties as assigned.                        

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

 

 

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred

 

 

PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A working knowledge of computer billing systems.
  • A working knowledge of insurance terms and concepts.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel software.
