UI Developer II

Konami Gaming is looking for a UI Developer II to join our team!

Design, develop and implement quality best-in-class front-end code using leading-edge UI techniques across a broad array of interactive web and mobile projects. Implement great designs that balance challenging customer needs with application performance. Work with UI design, product management and software development teams across multiple projects to understand accurately and translate establish product specifications to align product development with target audience needs and brand positioning. Develop and test across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices, including smartphones and tablets. Analyze, recommend and utilize proper programming methodologies and adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques. Create clean, maintainable, cross-browser compatible code from mockups.

What you'll be doing:

• Experience in web development for large applications, client-side scripting using advanced JavaScript libraries and Frameworks, general Web 2.0 techniques.
• Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3.
• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.
• Ability to work with complex client-side data flows and consuming APIs.
• Develop reusable UI libraries and components that are efficient, high-performance, and composable.
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks/nuances, and profiling.
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.
• Communicate and advocate for best practices for front-end engineering.
• Participate in design and code reviews.
• May be required to mentor new entry level hires during their orientation process
• Troubleshoot and diagnose client issues and resolve in efficient and timely manner.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

What we'll want you to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to communicate professionally and efficiently, both verbal and written with all levels of the business.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Gaming licensure(s).
• Knowledge in web development programming and general web 2.0 concepts including JavaScript, PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and networking.
• Experience in front-end frameworks like Angular, React, Redux, TypeScript, Backbone, and JQuery.
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• Knowledge in web development techniques and best practices.
• Conceptual knowledge of web, networking, database, and servers.
• General Linux navigation and script execution

Work Environment:

• Full-time / 40+ hours per week. Must be flexible to work overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Must be comfortable working in an area with limited working space for long hours with the ability to remain seated at computer terminal for extended periods of time. Extreme repetitive motion using keyboard, mouse, and telephone. Must be able to work at assigned location to enable direct communications and interactions with team members, management, and others as necessary, unless traveling for a business-related purpose.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a high-stress, fast-paced, and high-pressure environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy, paying attention to detail, and meeting assigned deadlines. Demonstrates high integrity, trust, and strict confidentiality. Ability to maintain excellent communication and a positive, respectful, and professional attitude and relationship with clients, employees, peers, co-workers, all levels of management, and all outside organizations conducting business or otherwise interacting with the company. Ability to always act autonomously while adhering to overall department and company policies and procedures.
• Position shall work primarily in a smoke free office environment. The noise level is low to moderate. Position shall maintain a cubicle or office in close proximity to other cubicles and offices.
