TFP Parent Partner II

Summary:

Applicant must possess a High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 5 years of supervised experience working in early child development within a home visiting program serving children ages 0 to 5 (prenatal to kindergarten). Knowledge of working in an office environment with usual equipment including phones, computers, copiers, efax, and ability to use computer hardware and software required. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License with a safe driving record, DMV record required. Must have or willing to obtain current CPR Certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross prior to orientation. Parent Partner II has a minimum of five years of experience implementing evidence-based home visiting and/or early child development education in AI/AN communities. In addition to the duties of Parent Partner, this position will lead group connection planning and delivery, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, and group reflective supervision with the planning and guidance of the program supervisor. Parent Partner II conducts bi-monthly home visits using the selected evidence-based model with program-approved cultural adaptations to parents/legal guardian caregivers of AI/AN children from prenatal to kindergarten entry. They maintain a caseload of 15 enrolled households. Parent Partners use screening tools and assessments to gather performance measurement, programmatic, and demographic data required by the grant in accordance with a schedule. Referrals are provided as needs are identified. Alongside all program staff, they engage in continuous quality improvement (CQI). Parent Partners plan and deliver group connections and events for enrolled participants in accordance with the model. They also conduct other duties as assigned. Employee must complete onboarding training by Institute for the Advancement of Family Support Professionals within 60 days of start date and successfully complete home visiting model refresher training. Must be able to work with the Indian Community, and be sensitive to the Indian Culture and its needs.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct and document home visits with fidelity to the home visiting model
• Build rapport, provide support, and assist in strengthening family dynamics
• Share developmental information and conduct developmental screenings
• Provide referrals to community resources related to family’s needs
• Establish and maintain relationships with various agencies that provide services to AI/AN Families
• Plan and implement group connections and events for program participants
• Participate in various meetings/trainings for the purpose of professional development
• Administer questionnaires for grant reporting purposes
• Provide health and developmental screenings to children and families
• Meet program deadlines in accordance with rigorous evaluation requirements and quality control
• Must be able to work a variable schedule including evenings and weekends to meet the program needs

Education and Experience:

Applicant must possess a High school diploma with five years of supervised experience working in a tribal home visiting or Bachelor’s Degree, Preferred.

Knowledge of:

The position requires working in an office environment with usual equipment including phones, computers, copiers, and efax. The position also requires significant driving; must maintain a safe driving history and good knowledge of traffic laws.

Skill: 

Utilize strong interpersonal skills for building rapport with clients. Comfortable working independently and with a team. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to use computer hardware and software required.
 

License:

Valid California Driver’s License with a safe driving record, DMV record required. Must be insurable by the program’s insurance carrier. A current DMV printout is required and updated every six months.

Certification:

Current CPR Certification which meets the guidelines from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (Can be obtained prior to orientation) 

Ability to:

Must be able to work with the Indian Community and be sensitive to the Indian culture and its needs. Continuously upgrade skills through in-service training and/or continuing education. Meet routine, established deadlines without supervisor’s directive, i.e., filing accomplished on a daily basis. Perform office practice functions with limited supervision of routine tasks.

Physical Demands:

Ability to life up to 20 lbs. This position requires transporting supplies between location for home visits, group connections, events, etc.

Salary:

$52,000-$55,120 ($25.00-$26.50 D.O.E)
