Position Title: Senior Project Manager

Reports To: VP of Engineering
Company: CES Consultants, Inc. (CES)
Location: Miami/Coral Gables Office– in-office with occasional travel to project sites.

Job Type: Full-Time

 

Position Overview

As part of our Transportation team, you will be instrumental in managing and overseeing complex transportation and civil engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and in full compliance with all regulatory requirements.  This role involves working closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure projects align with the owner's goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the full lifecycle of transportation engineering projects, from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, timelines, and budgets.
  • Oversee the design, engineering, and construction of transportation infrastructure, including roadways, bridges, and transportation facilities.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
  • Prepare and review project proposals, budgets, schedules, and contracts.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with permitting and regulatory requirements, including administrative codes.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of required permit applications and ensure projects comply with state and local regulations.
  • Mentor and manage a team of engineers, technical staff, and project personnel, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite to manage design documents, reports, and other project-related deliverables.
  • Manage client relationships and contribute to business development efforts, leveraging a personal network to support company growth.
  • Ensure project performance aligns with company standards, financial goals, and client expectations.
  • Perform additional related duties as needed

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 8-10 years of experience in engineering, design, or construction management with a focus on transportation infrastructure and civil engineering.
  • Strong background in personnel management, cost control, and financial oversight.
  • A personal book of business or client network that can help support company growth and development.
  • Extensive experience in the complete lifecycle of civil engineering programs, including operational aspects and services.
  • Proven expertise in water, stormwater, and wastewater facility projects, with a strong understanding of permitting procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Associate degree in design/drafting or equivalent experience in AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry.
  • Strong knowledge of BIM workflows, processes, model coordination, and documentation.

  • Autodesk Revit
  • Civil 3D
  • Navisworks
  • AutoCAD
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

Preferred Certifications (Not Required but a Plus)

  • CBIM (Certified Building Information Modeling)
  • Associate degree in design/drafting or equivalent experience in AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry.
  • BIM Pro Certification
  • Autodesk Certified Professional
