Job Description:

The Documentation Support Specialist is responsible for documentation of all types of consumer and commercial loans, including large, complex credits, participation loans, and lease transactions, ensuring that credits are documented in accordance with loan approvals, loan policy and applicable laws and regulations, and that such loan documents are delivered in a timely manner.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Prepare standard loan and collateral documents for all types of loans, including large, complex credits, utilizing Laser Pro software or other bank documents for new loans, renewals, loan modifications, and lease transactions, ensuring compliance with: loan policy; the terms of the approval; and all applicable government regulations.
  • Review existing loan and collateral documentation for renewals and modifications, to ensure any existing errors or deficiencies are corrected.
  • Engage and work with outside counsel, as needed, to order loan documents and to coordinate loan closing.
  • Obtain and review all supporting documentation for loans prior to closing, including, but not limited to:
    • Credit approval, to ensure that the document request is properly approved according to loan policy
    • All financial reporting requirements, to ensure compliance with loan approval
    • Organizational documents for all borrower types, to ensure proper authorization of loan documentation by such entities.
    • Lien searches and real estate title documents to ensure the bank’s collateral position.
    • Flood determinations and applicable flood insurance to ensure compliance with bank policy and applicable regulations.
    • All other types of applicable insurance (i.e. hazard, general liability builders risk) to ensure bank’s collateral is protected.
    • Real estate appraisals and appraisal review, to ensure policy requirements are met.
    • Disbursement of loan proceeds, to ensure that funds are disbursed in accordance with the loan approval and that all fees are paid as required.
  • Perform second check of loan documentation package prior to closing.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Documentation Support Manager.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of loan documentation and/or general loan experience required.
  • Through understanding of loan policies and procedures, as well as documentation required by government regulations.
  • Good organizational, communication and analytical skills.
  • Good computer, keyboard, and software application (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills.
  • Minimum 2 years of Laser Pro experience required.
  • In addition to possessing the skills necessary to perform the job, the employee must be willing and able to demonstrate these skills by coming to work on a daily basis, as scheduled.
