Associate Business Analyst, Payer 

Department: Product  

FLSA Status: Exempt 

Reports To: Vice President, Payer and Trading Partners  

Physical Strength: Light 

Summary:

The Associate Business Analyst supports Office Ally’s Payer and Trading Partner Management team by determining the most beneficial routing of payer transactions, managing new payer/transaction requests, identify needs for new direct connections and facilitating development needs across internal and external partners. This role plays an important part in ensuring data integrity, operational efficiency, and high-quality connectivity for healthcare transactions.  

Job Duties 

Operational & Technical Support 

  • Assist with route management ensuring transactions are properly routed. 

  • Review and process new payer requests from customers.  Identify options for these connections  

  • Partner with Clearinghouse Operations to submit requirements for development of new payer connections or changes to the routes. 

Analysis & Documentation 

  • Document business requirements, connection specifications, for new or updated payer routes. 

  • Maintain Internal Trading Partner Payer lists and costs.  

  • Maintain Pass through Fee List. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Communicate with payers, trading partners, and internal teams to  

  • Support the team in prioritizing and tracking progress of payer-related projects or enhancements. 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Basic understanding of healthcare EDI transactions (e.g., 837, 835, 270/271. 276/277 ETC.) is a plus. 

  • Strong understanding of EDI transmission protocols (SFTP, AS2, VAN, HTTPS) 

  • Familiarity with HIPAA and ANSI X12 formats 

Preferred: 

  • Experience with healthcare clearinghouses payer connectivity, or healthcare data routing. 

  • Familiarity with SQL, Excel, or data analysis tools for basic reporting or troubleshooting. 

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively across departments. 

Education & Experience 

  • Two (2) years of experience in a health care clearinghouse or payer management environment preferred.
