Mission of the Role (What you’ll be doing):
The role of the SupplyOne Food Packaging Specialist is to provide technical packaging knowledge and guidance in support of the SupplyOne Food Packaging sales growth initiative. The objective of the Specialist is to achieve growth in SupplyOne’s revenues and profitability in the food processing segment. The position’s primary emphasis is on business development in support of SupplyOne field sales management and field salespeople. Working in conjunction with local management you will be expected to develop a food packaging target account program and provide leadership in achieving annual revenue and gross profit objectives. Your position will require aiding the local operating company in merchandising food packaging related products and solutions, which includes developing strong relationships with SupplyOne’s preferred food packaging suppliers. You will also be a resource for training field salespeople and support staff in the packaging materials and methods associated with the food processing industry.
Key Duties & Accountabilities (Primary responsibilities & quantifiable measurements):
- Successfully transition primary packaging opportunities for customers, including:
- Barrier shrink bags
- Thermoforming films (flexible and semi rigid)
- VFFS & HFFS films for variety of applications
- Lidding films
- Rigid packaging (barrier & non-barrier trays, cups)
- Stand Up Pouches, Pre-made bags/pouches in variety of formats
- Miscellaneous primary packaging (papers, folding cartons, labels, EPS trays)
- Create and execute territory development strategy with field management.
- Work closely with Equipment Specialists to ensure consumable sales with equipment sales.
- Develop and maintain suppliers to support local territory and SupplyOne.
- Train sales force and internal staff on Food Packaging related matters – products, processes, equipment, suppliers, and food processing environments.
- Assist local merchandisers and purchasing agents on identifying and aligning suppliers – especially for PMP opportunities.
- Attend regional & national association meetings.
