Summary: Perform a variety of professional duties for participants of the federal Supplemental Food Program for Women Infant and Children (WIC) under the supervision of the WIC Director, Associate Director or the Practice Administrator. Is guided by a thorough knowledge of counseling methods: practices and procedures, applicable government regulation, the policies and procedures of the NYSDOH WIC Program and the Institute for Family Health. Uses the NYSDOH NYWIC computer system to process WIC participants information.
Is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objective and policies of the WIC Program and the organization. Has a through knowledge of the community and public health facilities so as to refer participants as needed. Assist the WIC Director and/or Associate Director with related departmental duties. Is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objective and policies of the department and organization.
