Position Summary

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist at our Chattanooga, TN location to provide support to our accounting department in the area of invoicing and payment collection.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for overseeing the accounts receivable functions within the organization. This role entails managing the incoming funds, ensuring timely and accurate billing, maintaining customer relationships, and overseeing the collection processes. The A/R Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and cash flow of the company.

The position will report directly to the CFO and have the full support of our accounting team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Reconcile incoming payments, ensuring accurate recording in financial systems
  • Prepare regular reports and analyses on accounts receivable status
  • Work with internal team to review and process customer credits
  • Collection calls to past due customers
  • Setup of new customers in accounting software, including getting documentation required, such as credit references and sales tax exemptions
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Implement new systems and technologies as needed
  • Working well with our team is essential
  • Consistent, timely attendance is required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Reliable transportation
  • Computer use competency including Outlook, Microsoft products, especially Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and driven
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
  • High school diploma preferred
  • One year or more of accounts receivable experience is highly preferred
