POSITION SUMMARY
The Sourcing Specialist will work the end-to-end procurement process for critical components used in the manufacturing of our fire apparatuses. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing long-term supply agreements for parts ranging from raw materials to complex fabricated components.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Source, evaluate, and select new suppliers globally, focusing on quality, lead time, price, and compliance (e.g., origin of melt/pour documentation).
- Develop and execute formal Requests for Quotation (RFQs). Negotiate pricing, payment terms, Long-Term Agreements (LTAs), and tooling costs to achieve favorable financial outcomes.
- Manage the supplier qualification and onboarding process, including site visits, capability assessments, and review of First Article Inspection (FAI) and PPAP processes.
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships with top-tier suppliers to drive continuous improvement, volume commitment, and reliability.
- Identify supply chain risks (e.g., single-source dependency, volatile commodity markets like aluminum) and develop strategies, including inventory stocking plans and hedging options, to mitigate them.
- Coordinate the transition of existing imported components to qualified domestic suppliers, managing the full lifecycle from drawing review (STP files) to final quote acceptance.
- Serve as a point of contact for resolving complex supply issues, quality problems, and delivery disruptions, working closely with Engineering and Quality Assurance.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, 3D models (STP files), and specifications for machined, welded, and fabricated components (e.g., truck frames, cab components, wiring harnesses).
- Review supplier contracts, focusing specifically on compliance clauses, quality requirements, and recall liability provisions.
- Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of material data, costs, and lead times within the MAS/ERP system
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company.
