QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
- Basic mathematical ability (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and ability to count.
- Able to give/receive complex verbal instructions/descriptions to/from supervisors/co-workers/employees concerning store/department policy/procedures and use of equipment.
- The ability to read and write English. Able to read instructions, merchandise labels, warehouse order codes, numbers, reports, printed paper and forms.
- Make judgments concerning the placement of merchandise on the shelf/display (spatial relationship), case-opening procedures, extent of unsalable product damage and ordering of new items.
- Able to open cases and stock so that product will not be damaged.
- Able to clearly price-mark/label products for customers and cashiers.
- Good interpersonal communications.
PREFERRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a related type job.
- Prior experience operating a baler, case cutter, cleaning/sanitation equipment, pallet jack and forklift.

TASKS OF THE JOB – This position generally involves:
- Mobility:
- To move cases from pallets to backroom to sales floor, cardboard/packing material to the backroom, excell cases/damaged product from the sales floor to the backroom and to bring supplies /product/maintenance equipment and return, maximum of 100 yards.
- To check the case/cooler/freezer temperature 4 times daily, approximately 100 yards.
- Work on tile or concrete floor for a maximum of 8 hours in duration.
- Lift a maximum of 50 lbs. from 6 inches to 84 inches on to overhead/cooler/freezer storage rack.
- Move a maximum of 50 lbs. up to 15 yards.
- Reach forward/down up to 36 inches attain/place merchandise, to stock product and to clean shelves/floor area.
- Perceive cases, case-cutter edge, case strips, shelf location, product size/ description, customers, co-workers, shelf tags, labels on products, stocking carts, temperature controls, invoice/packing slips, code date, reports, packaging materials, debris on floor, aisle markers, and signs.
- Perceive color difference of product and product labels.
- Respond to the sound of baler/pallet jack/forklift/cleaning-equipment operation.
- Communicate with and respond to customers, vendors and co-workers.
- Use and respond to the intercom/phone system.
- Read case labels/strips, signs, tags, shelf signs, code-dates, invoices, temperature gauges, reports, numbers, aisle markers, equipment and chemical-warning labels, department forms, and employment records/forms.
- The Frozen Manager will perform the same Tasks of the Job as the Food Clerk Stocker while substituting as part of the work crew or as past of the training program for new employees. (See Food Clerk (Stocker) job description.)
