Make a Lasting Impact
A Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) provides both strategic and operational support to service center managers throughout the organization. We are looking for candidates who are:
Engineering Rockstars. As a Sunrise Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT), no two days are alike. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of projects—one day you might be in the field gathering reconnaissance data or observing construction, and the next you’ll be back in the office developing designs, plans, and reports. This variety gives you the chance to build skills in water and sewer design, drainage analysis, master planning, geometric layouts, roadway improvements, and even project management support. Along the way, you’ll sharpen your technical abilities, grow your problem-solving skills, and see firsthand how your contributions make projects succeed. You’ll never be stuck doing the same thing every day—and that’s exactly what makes this role exciting.
Collaborative Teammate. At Sunrise, teamwork is at the heart of everything we do. As an EIT, you’ll collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients, and stakeholders to keep projects moving forward smoothly. This role will give you the chance to strengthen both your verbal and written communication skills while working alongside professionals who are invested in your growth. You’ll take on responsibility, learn to manage ownership of tasks, and gain confidence knowing you’re an integral part of the team’s success.
Certified and Ready to Grow. You’ve worked hard to earn your degree in Civil Engineering and your E.I.T. certification—now it’s time to put them to use. At Sunrise, you’ll apply your knowledge to real-world projects, especially in water and wastewater design, while continuing to learn from experienced mentors. This position is designed to help you grow into a well-rounded engineer, with opportunities to take on new challenges and advance your career in the direction you’re most passionate about. Prior experience in water or wastewater will set you apart and help you hit the ground running.
Why Join Us? At Sunrise, you’ll gain exposure to diverse projects, learn from experienced engineers, and build the foundation for a long-term career in civil engineering. We’re looking for motivated problem-solvers ready to make an impact and grow with us.
Picture yourself here? We encourage you to apply whether your experience aligns with every qualification or not. We’re focused on cultivating a community of people who can grow with us, and you might be the person we’re looking for, even if you don’t realize it yet.
