Position Overview

This is a regular student position for a Student Marketing Coordinator. The student will serve as the engine for an internal recruitment campaign, executing tactical marketing strategies to convert UCO students into Professional Sales majors and minors. This role reports to the Volunteer Program Director.

 

Hours per Week

Up to 20 hours per week, maximum.

Department Specific Job Functions

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Digital Marketing & Social Medica Management: Managing, creating, and posting engaging content across social media channels (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn) to drive awareness and capture student interest.
  • Lead Tracking & Analytics: Utilizing available CRM or analytic tools to track leads generated from classroom pitches and events and providing data-driven updates on conversion progress.
  • Campus Engagement & Event Coordination: Collaborating with student organizations (e.g., Finance Club) and faculty to co-host events and managing the logistics for on-campus visibility campaigns.
  • Media Distribution: Ensuring the promotional video and other assets are correctly distributed via UCO's approved digital channels and embedded in high-traffic course pages.
  • Outreach Support: Assisting the Sales Ambassador and Director with coordinated faculty and academic advisor outreach initiatives.

 

Enrollment Requirements

Fall/Spring Semesters: All student employees must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half-time enrollment for fall/spring semesters is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. International students must be enrolled full-time to be eligible to work as a student employee. Full-time enrollment is 9 credit hours for graduates and 12 credit hours for undergraduates.

Summer Semester: Student employees working regular student positions must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours to be eligible to work during the summer. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in fall classes in order to work during the summer, but they (and the department) will be required to pay FICA taxes. Student employees working FWSP positions must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (if undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (if graduate) in order to work during the summer in a Federal Work Study Program position.

Enrollment Exception: If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum number of hours required for student employment, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor (stating the number of hours needed to graduate and anticipated graduation date) and submit it to Human Resources. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Marketing Acumen: Demonstrated experience managing a public or organizational social media presence (e.g., club, business, or personal brand).
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for compelling social media copy and event pitches.
  • Self-Management: Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines on a consistent 20-hour weekly schedule.
  • Data & Technology: Familiarity with lead tracking processes or simple data management (e.g., spreadsheets, basic CRM entry).
  • Program Knowledge: Current enrollment in the College of Business, with a strong understanding of the Professional Sales Program's value proposition.
  • General Skills: Detail-oriented, dependable, and punctual.
