About the Role
The Manager, ATDM Career Services, plays a critical role in preparing and connecting students from the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) program with meaningful career opportunities in the defense manufacturing sector. This role oversees the delivery of individualized career support, job placement strategies, employer engagement, and career readiness programming tailored to the unique needs of ATDM students.
The Manager collaborates with internal and external stakeholders—including instructors, student services, employers, and workforce partners—to align career development efforts with program outcomes and industry demands. This position requires a strong understanding of workforce development, career coaching, and employer relations, with an emphasis on outcomes-based placement and career navigation support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of career services for the ATDM program, ensuring students receive high-quality job placement assistance and career coaching.
- Develop and maintain relationships with defense manufacturers, workforce partners, and hiring organizations to expand employment pipelines and placement opportunities.
- Coordinate with instructional staff and student support teams to monitor student readiness and align career services efforts with technical training timelines.
- Provide one-on-one and group career coaching sessions, including resume development, interview preparation, job search strategies, and transitioning into the defense manufacturing workforce.
- Track and report employment outcomes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with program reporting requirements.
- Lead initiatives that support students’ long-term employability, including networking opportunities, employer spotlights, and career readiness workshops.
- Contribute to the development of career services tools, templates, and resources tailored to ATDM students.
- Collaborate with ATDM program leadership to provide feedback on employer needs, industry trends, and workforce alignment.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies regarding employment services and data reporting.
