Are you ready to take the next step in your legal career and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, high-level litigation environment? Porter Scott is now accepting applications for our Summer Law Clerk Program.
Our Summer Law Clerks are fully integrated into the fabric of our firm. You won’t be doing coffee runs or filing paperwork—you’ll be writing motions, attending depositions, and working side-by-side with some of the most respected trial attorneys in Northern California. You’ll receive direct mentorship, individualized feedback, and the opportunity to make real contributions to active cases from day one.
Throughout the summer, you’ll engage in meaningful legal work on real litigation matters, receive personalized guidance from experienced attorneys, and participate in weekly trainings and hands-on workshops. You’ll observe court hearings, depositions, and mediations, and get to know our firm culture through social and networking events.
We’re looking for enthusiastic and motivated law students with strong writing and analytical skills, a genuine interest in litigation, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset. 1Ls and 2Ls are both encouraged to apply.

This is a paid position at $35 per hour. The program is held in person in our Sacramento office. The program runs for approximately 12 weeks from late May to early August.
