Position Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Billing Supervisor to oversee the daily activities of our billing team. This role is responsible ensuring billing tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with established processes. The Billing Supervisor will supervise four Billing Specialists, provide day-to-day guidance and support, and collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues and maintain efficient billing operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide daily supervision and support to a team of Billing Specialists, ensuring billing tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Finance, Eligibility, Claims) to address billing-related discrepancies and inquiries.
  •  Follow and monitor established billing processes to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  •  Ensure clear and professional communication with clients regarding invoices and account details.
  •  Oversee the shared billing inbox, assign incoming emails to the appropriate team members, and ensure timely responses are being provided.
  •  Assist with audits and reporting to verify accuracy of rates, enrollments, and billing practices.
  •  Recommend process improvements to management as opportunities arise.
  •  Support training and provide feedback to team members in coordination with management.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of billing experience, including 1–2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Extensive experience in billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proven organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of health insurance billing is a plus.
• 2+ years of TPA experience preferred.

Work Schedule & Remote Work

Full-time, remote opportunity; candidates must operate during standard business hours aligned with Eastern Time (EST). Flexibility required for critical project deadlines, cross-functional meetings, and occasional travel (0–10%) for team collaboration or vendor engagements.

Remote Work Requirements

  • Dedicated home office with reliable, high-speed internet.
  • Secure workspace aligned with HIPAA security standards (device encryption, secure Wi-Fi, screen privacy). 
  • Ability to effectively coordinate and lead projects in a fully remote environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through video, phone, and written platforms.
  • Ability to effectively use computers, video conferencing tools, and other standard remote work technology.
  • Visual and auditory capabilities suitable for remote work.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
