Roles and Responsibilities
The senior digital marketing director leads the agency’s digital direction across industries and client types (B2B, B2C and B2B2C). This role is responsible for media strategy, execution and outcomes across the agency’s client roster while also coaching and nurturing talent within CSG’s expanding Digital team.
To be successful, you’ll enthusiastically champion the value of paid media internally and with clients. You’ll serve as our industry expert for digital strategy, including CSG’s core ad platforms of Google, Meta and LinkedIn, and you’ll lead the charge on analytics and operations. Whether you’re planning a seven figure omnichannel strategy, tracking the buying journey across the full custom lifecycle or working with clients to ensure they remain up-to-date on the latest privacy regulations, the senior digital marketing director is continually elevating the agency’s digital capabilities.
Senior Digital Marketing Director:
- Owns the development, execution and oversight of all media strategies across the agency
- Serves as CSG’s source of knowledge for relevant channels and platforms, with an emphasis placed on CSG’s core platforms (Google Ads, Meta and LinkedIn) while still maintaining a depth of knowledge for secondary platforms (e.g., Pinterest)
- Develops and maintains strategic frameworks, quality control protocols and performance markers for the agency
- Regularly communicates with clients and internal stakeholders across multiple communications mediums (e.g., client calls, email, etc.)
- Understands measurement frameworks / approaches (e.g., MTA, MMM, incremental test, etc.) and understands how to best apply for clients based on budgets, goals, etc.
- Uses advanced methods analyze platform and client-supplied data to inform plans, create model-based performance projections, and develop post-flight and post-campaign reports
- Serves as the expert on website tagging and pixels, including non-ad platform tags/pixels (e.g., CMPs, CRMs, ecommerce, etc.)
- Maintains strong understanding of non-paid channels (earned, owned and shared) in order to provide holistic performance reporting
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience (agency experience required), including significant in-platform work in Google, Meta and LinkedIn
- Demonstrated direct management experience, including mentoring and team workload management
- Deep understanding of Google Marketing Platform offerings, as well as Google Cloud
- Proven track record of measuring and effectively communicating media success across all stages of customer journey, including multiple years of in-platform work with data integration tools like Funnel.io or Supermetrics
- Working knowledge of programming languages like SQL, Python and/or JavaScript
- Experience with APIs is a plus
- Ability to work confidently and independently in a fast-paced environment with an understanding of how to delegate and manage up as needed
- Accountability and a confident presence with keen problem-solving skills and a positive attitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective presentation skills, particularly related to media strategies and reporting
- Strong organizational and project management skills; experience working in a project management system (e.g., Asana, Basecamp, WorkFront, etc.) a plus
- A passion for finding creative solutions for clients’ problems, requests and opportunities
- Curiosity to learn and stay on top of industry and client vertical trends and best practices
