Description

FlightWave, a subsidiary of Red Cat Holdings, is looking to fill a Continuous Improvement Manager position. We are a dynamic and growing drone technology company focused on the manufacturing of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS drones) for use in defense, public safety, and other government security organizations.

The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for leading initiatives that drive operational excellence through lean methodologies, Six Sigma practices, and strategic process improvements across manufacturing operations. This role plays a key part in supporting the efficient production of drone systems in the aerospace and defense industry, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery performance improvements across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing environment using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles
  • Identify and analyze operational inefficiencies and implement strategic plans to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality
  • Train and mentor staff at all levels on lean tools, change management, and best practices for continuous improvement
  • Develop and track KPIs to evaluate success of CI initiatives and report on progress to executive leadership
  • Support cross-functional teams to drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to support NPI (New Product Introduction) and operational readiness
  • Utilize value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and statistical process control to identify key opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace manufacturing regulations, quality standards (AS9100), and ITAR/EAR requirements

Qualifications

  • Experience working in UAV or aerospace defense manufacturing
  • Knowledge of AS9100 standards and Defense industry compliance
  • Proficiency with Power BI or other data visualization tools
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing and office environment. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
