Hospice Caregiver

As a Hospice Caregiver you will provide individuals with end-of-life care at the Hospice Home of Johnson County, also known as The Bird House. The Bird House is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to providing compassionate, dignified end-of-life care by focusing on the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of our guests and their loved ones in a peaceful, home-like environment.  Immediate full-time and part-time openings available!

Primary Duties:

• Provide companionship and all end-of-life care to include:
  • Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting
  • Medication management
  • Meal preparation
  • Housekeeping & laundry assistance
  • Positioning, transferring, and feeding as appropriate
• Promote personal safety and maintain a safe environment for guests by observing infection control practices.
• Effectively communicates with all team members.
• Maintain strict confidentiality within all aspects of the position.
• Document the care provided and pertinent observations.

You need to be at least eighteen (18) years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED for this position.  Previous experience as a Caregiver is preferred.  Additional requirements include:

• Ability to work independently under minimum supervision
• Must be able to work every other weekend
• Must be able to pass multiple background checks
