POSITION TITLE:  Staff Family Physician  

                  Full or Part Time, 0.5 - 1.0 FTE  

REPORTS TO (TITLE): Medical Director and Team Clinician Lead – Lombardi campus 

SALARY RANGE: 1.00 FTE $ 211,660 - $255,709 DOE

Lombardi campus – located in the original site when SRCH first opened its doors in 1996, Lombardi Campus is deeply embedded in a Spanish-speaking and largely immigrant community in the Roseland neighborhood in southwest Santa Rosa.   

This campus is ideal for a clinician who is particularly skilled and drawn to work with a Latino population and thrives in a fully bilingual environment.    

Lombardi is also the original site for our FNP Residency; as such, supporting and working in partnership with FNP colleagues is a philosophy and practice embedded at the site.  

Specific Tasks/Competencies in Clinic:  

Create an ongoing, continuity primary care relationship with patients on your panel; diagnose and treat SRCH patients within the scope of your CA license and FM Board Certification, using evidence-based medicine; and working with the support of a clinic team, including medical assistants and nursing, among others.  

  • Proficiently use clinic EMR [OCHIN Epic], including signing Encounters within agency timeline standards, and active and appropriate Inbox management.   

  • Facilitate referral for and coordination with other specialists or care centers. 

  • Promote and support quality initiatives by the agency, including input on improving workflows, treatment guidelines and protocols. 

Collaborate with other providers at SRCH and externally regarding care of gender-diverse patients.  

  • Actively support organizational priorities of patient care, quality, education, and sustainability, with an agency goal of a positive work environment. 

  • Participates in regular clinic, agency and clinician meetings, and other professional activities, as designated by the Site or Medical Director.  

  • Some meetings require travel offsite to SRCH clinics or outside agencies 

  • Meet regularly with Clinician Lead and/or Medical Director to review patient care issues and provide input into the development of treatment guidelines and protocols. 

  • Provide as-needed, occasional clinical consult to Family Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants  

  • Potentially be assigned as supervising clinician for up to 4 non-independent FNPs or PAs. 

  • Participate in ongoing training; maintain HIPAA compliance; support variance reporting system when indicated.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:    

Education:  

  • Active California License; in good standing with the Medical Board of California. 

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine or Family Nurse Practice 

  • Current CPR (BLS adequate) certifications 

Experience, Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Demonstrated proficiency with procedures and tasks enumerated on Staff Physician competency list. 

  • Proficiency working with electronic medical records (EMR); specifically, Epic [OCHIN version]. Experience with Outlook email function and related software products to enhance clinic and agency communication. 

  • Proficiency [bilingual preferred] in Spanish and English preferred. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to be sensitive with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds. 

  • Includes qualities of excellent judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills. 

  • Ability to work as part of a team, both in clinic and hospital. 

Physical Requirements:    

While performing the duties of this job, this position is frequently required to do the following:   

  • Use standard office equipment and access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.    

  • Use computer keyboard with manual and finger dexterity and wrist-finger speed sufficient to perform repetitive actions efficiently for extended periods of time.   

  • Reach forward, up, down, and to the side.   

  • Sit or stand for minimum periods of one hour at a time and come and go from the work area repeatedly throughout the day. 

  • Lift minimum twenty (20) pounds. 

  • Give and follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail and accuracy.   

  • Perform complex mental functions; collect, interpret, and analyze complex data and information, including developing differential diagnosis for patients’ medical conditions. 

  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.   

  • Perform basic arithmetic functions, including for prescribing medications 

  • Ability to understand complex laws, regulations, and policies, both at an agency and community level, and how they apply in the context of the medical visit. 

  • Vision: see details of objects at close range (corrective vision appropriate). 

  • Travel to other office and community locations in timely manner, as part of regular role as Staff Physician.
