You will design scalable data models, pipelines, and storage frameworks; ensure data quality and accessibility; and partner closely with analytics, automation, and AI teams to enable reliable, high-value data products. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience building enterprise data platforms and a passion for transforming data into an engine for business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
- Enterprise Data Architecture
- Design and maintain a scalable, secure, and efficient enterprise data architecture across Azure Data Services, Snowflake, and integrated systems.
- Define best practices for data modeling, warehousing, governance, and metadata management.
- Establish architectural standards for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and access.
- Data Engineering & Platform Ownership
- Architect and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines to support analytics, automation, and AI-driven workflows.
- Work with Data Engineers to develop reusable frameworks, templates, and automation around ingestion, transformation, and quality checks.
- Implement data performance tuning, partitioning, clustering, and cost optimization strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with BI analysts to deliver reliable, well-structured datasets for dashboards, reporting, and analytics projects.
- Partner with Automation Engineers to provide clean, accessible data for enterprise workflow automation.
- Collaborate with AI Engineers and the AI Architect to supply high-quality data for model training, feature engineering, and production inference.
- Engage business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
- Data Governance & Quality
- Implement and enforce data governance frameworks, including data lineage, cataloging, and stewardship.
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems.
- Establish standards for data security, access control, and compliance—especially when working with legal, medical, and sensitive client information.
- Innovation & Modernization
- Evaluate and implement new data tools, technologies, and architectural patterns (e.g., medallion architecture, data fabric, data mesh concepts).
- Support Magna’s transformation into a data-driven company by championing best practices and enabling self-service analytics.
- Stay current with advancements in Azure, Snowflake, and data engineering technologies to guide modernization efforts.
Â
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related technical roles.
- Strong expertise with Azure Data Services (Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Databricks, Azure Functions, etc.) and Snowflake.
- Hands-on experience designing enterprise data warehouses, data lakes, data lakehouses, or hybrid architectures.
- Proficiency with SQL and at least one scripting language such as Python.
- Deep understanding of ETL/ELT frameworks, orchestration, and data modeling techniques (Kimball, Data Vault, etc.).
- Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, analytics, and business teams.
Â
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting AI/ML workflows, including data preparation, feature stores, and model data pipelines.
- Background in legal tech, medical data, insurance, or other regulated data environments.
- Familiarity with BI platforms and self-service data models.
- Understanding of RPA, workflow automation, or event-driven architectures.
- Experience designing high-volume data ingestion for unstructured documents (PDFs, transcripts, medical records, etc.)
Â
What We Offer:
- A pivotal role shaping the core data architecture for Magna’s next generation of analytics and AI products.
- Collaboration with a talented cross-functional team spanning data engineers, AI engineers, automation engineers, and business experts.
