Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Automation Technician to join our team. As a Building Automation Technician, you will play a crucial role in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building automation systems (BAS) within commercial properties. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of various building systems, such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), lighting, security, and energy management. Your expertise will contribute to optimizing energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and overall building performance.

PayScale:

Jacksonville: $20.00-$50.00/hour, based on experience

 

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, test, and service building automation systems to ensure proper operation.
  • Diagnose and repair system issues, faults, and alarms.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and recommend system improvements.
  • Implement and update BAS programs and graphics as needed.
  • Verify equipment and controls are installed and functioning per project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate service reports and documentation of all work performed.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers on BAS operation and functionality.
  • Collaborate with project and engineering teams to ensure system performance and compliance.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging BAS technologies.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or an associate degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in building automation, HVAC systems, electrical systems, or a similar field.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in commercial buildings.
  • Strong knowledge of building automation protocols, such as BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
  • Proficiency in using BAS software, programming languages, and diagnostic tools for system configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex system issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and end-users.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to company protocols.
