Kiddie Academy of Abingdon, the corporately owned Academy, has a rewarding opportunity for a patient, flexible, and nurturing person to join our team as a Full Time Lead Teacher - Infant/Toddler (6-weeks to 2-years-old). About this role:
You’ll use your caring attitude, creative nature and excellent communication skills in the classroom to foster curriculum-based play. Among your responsibilities will be:
- Planning and implementing engaging lesson plans that align with Kiddie Academy’s Life Essentials® curriculum.
- Providing general classroom supervision, which includes personal care, hygiene and positive guidance for the children.
- Prepare materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and in active play.
- For infants, using the New Beginnings program within Kiddie Academy’s Life Essentials Curriculum, to reinforce individuality, and support development within a loving, nurturing environment.
- For toddlers, using the Discovering Me program within Kiddie Academy’s Life Essentials Curriculum as a guide through sensory based learning experience
Qualifications
- 1-year minimum early childhood education work experience
- ABA Certification highly valued, but not required
- 45 Hour Infant Toddler Certification required, 90 Hour Preschool Certification is preferred in addition.
- Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state of Maryland and local regulatory agencies
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high and pass a medical exam/physical
