Position Overview: 

The Product Manager is responsible for all assigned product lines in Young Innovation’s Oral Surgery product portfolio. The Product Manager will ensure that these product lines align with the overall business strategy and will work with internal and external stakeholders to maintain product health and drive market share growth and profitability. The Product Manager must be a strong cross-functional leader and interface with senior management, sales, operations, finance and strategic partners.

This position reports directly to the Director, Product Management – OMS.

Essential Duties

  • Develops and executes all product line strategies, initiatives, and tactics with responsibility for understanding performance drivers and ensuring product lines meet financial objectives and company strategic plans.

  • Oversees management of product life cycles, annual pricing, identifies and executes cost reduction and SKU rationalization opportunities.

  • Subject matter expert responsible for identifying customer needs through executing voice of customer and other market research and relaying products’ competitive edge, indications, features and benefits throughout the organization.

  • Work with OMS business units to define, develop and maintain a product/project priority list, road map and metrics for key initiatives. Then communicate any related status, changes, risks, and countermeasures.

  • Prepares business cases and drives new product ideas through development, launch,  and post launch phases

  • Partners with downstream marketing team on product positioning, branding, content creation and promotional and lead generation campaigns.

  • Partners with sales leaders to gain and share customer insight to ensure sales efforts align with developed strategies and ensure sales organization is trained as needed.

  • Maintains external relationships as appropriate including universities and schools, opinion leaders, third-party evaluators, advisory boards, and other industry leaders.

  • Stays apprised of competitive landscape including trend analysis. Includes reviewing market clearances obtained by competitors and potential suppliers, networking within the industry, and reviewing any other 3rd party data source for competitive information.

  • Provides input and support to operations, sourcing, and QRA teams in the execution of their recurring or ad hoc product-focused efforts, including but not limited to: product change controls, margin enhancement, artwork approvals, and new vendor selection.

Related Duties:  

  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

  • Support sales with customer-facing meetings and training sessions where applicable.

  • Support tradeshows on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Training and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and education required.

  • 3-5 years of experience, in a product management or marketing capacity.

  • Experience managing dental implant restorative solutions strongly preferred.

  • Expertise in dental implant restoration digital workflows a plus.  

  • MBA preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  • Strong product management skills – managing product lifecycle, pricing & competitive analysis, product benchmarking, and strategy formation skills.

  • Strong leadership ability – driving initiatives across and through many cross-functional teams.

  • Able to gather, analyze and convey customer insight for effective product design and marketing.

  • Experience proactively engaging with sales organizations on areas such as sales training, sales tool development, and product messaging.

  • Demonstrated communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external customers/stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; intermediate or advanced Excel skills.

  • Must possess intellectual curiosity and a desire to work in a fast-paced organization on diverse and challenging projects.

  • Analyze market trends and recommend changes to marketing and business development strategies based on analysis and feedback.

  • Establishing and implementing communication plans.

  • Strong project management skills – ability to scope and structure large-scale projects.

Physical Requirements:

Working Conditions

Office environment and occasional exposure to manufacturing plant environment, with some abnormal variations in temperature, unavoidable fumes, noise, dust and atmospheric conditions.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel up to 25%.

Pay Range: $95,000 - $125,000.

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position at the time of posting. Within the range, the compensation will be determined based on education/training, skill set, experience, and other organizational needs.
