General Purpose: Provide administrative support to employees in the Mortgage Operations and Servicing Department.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Collect mortgage rates from investors and calculate the internal in-house mortgage rates on a daily basis. Send the daily rate sheet to management and Mortgage lenders.
- Provide support to the lending staff by completing the Loan Estimate (LE) and sending it to the borrowers in a timely manner.
- Responsible for mailing all adverse action notices and notices of incomplete applications to members within the required time outlined in Regulation B.
- Act as a backup for the Mortgage Appraisal Coordinator and the Mortgage Post Closer position. This includes learning all aspects of both positions and filling in whenever necessary.
- Assist Mortgage Department with Audit Preparation, to include retrieving and creating or merging files for a pre-audit for internal management and underwriting review.
- Keep track of lock rates and alert Lender’s when there is an approaching lock rate expiration date.
- Send out HUD Letters to delinquent loans on a monthly basis.
- Provide support to processing staff by assisting in documentation retrieval such as payoffs, flood certifications and tax documents.
- Assist Mortgage Management in data research and complying information as needed.
Other Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist Mortgage, Business, Consumer and other CU Departments with various projects, as assigned.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Mortgage Operations Manager.
Job Knowledge
- Working knowledge of credit union's telephone system.
- Working knowledge of organization's policies/procedures and credit union's service philosophy.
- Working knowledge of products and services.
- Working knowledge of safety and security program for false alarms, robberies, bomb threats, fire and extortion.
- Working knowledge of credit union's in-house computer system, traffic monitoring system, and Internet.

Job Qualifications (Education/Experience)
Job requires a high school level of language, math, and reasoning skills. One to two years’ experience in a related field with equal responsibilities is acceptable. Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education.

Physical Requirements
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
Mental and/or Emotional Requirements
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
