3rd Shift Impregnator

Job Details

WAF - Manitowoc, WI
Full Time

Description

Precision. Process. Pride.
At Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry, craftsmanship runs deep. Every casting we create is a testament to over a century of innovation, skill, and hard work. But behind every flawless part is someone like you a detail-oriented professional making sure the smallest imperfections don’t go unnoticed. If you're someone who takes pride in doing things the right way the first time, we invite you to join us as an Impregnation Operator.

What’s the job?
As an Impregnation Operator, you’ll work hands-on with state-of-the-art vacuum chambers, rinse tanks, and temperature-controlled equipment to strengthen and seal aluminum castings. Your work helps protect against leaks, cracks, and porosity critical in the industries we serve. You’re not just operating equipment—you’re making sure our products live up to the standards our customers rely on.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Operating impregnation equipment, including vacuum chambers, agitators, and rinse/cure tanks to perform precision sealing of castings.

  • Carefully inspecting aluminum castings for defects such as porosity, surface flaws, incomplete fills, or cracks—because you know even the tiniest issue can cause a major problem down the line.

  • Recording detailed observations, measurements, and any deviations from process standards to ensure traceability and quality.

  • Monitoring and adjusting temperature-controlled systems such as heaters and sensors to maintain ideal conditions for aluminum treatment.

  • Using air hoses to blow out casting holes and remove excess impregnation solution—because clean castings are quality castings.

  • Safely packaging, labeling, and preparing finished castings for shipment or internal storage.

  • Following all safety procedures and wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the job—your safety is our priority.

What You Bring to the Role:

  • A high level of attention to detail and patience for precision work.

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or metal casting environment is a plus, but we’re willing to train the right person.

  • Ability to follow instructions, document procedures, and adhere to quality standards.

  • Willingness to wear PPE and follow all safety protocols in a hands-on industrial setting.

  • A steady hand, strong work ethic, and a commitment to producing parts that meet the highest quality standards.

Join Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry and help us build products that last—because quality starts with people like you.
