Description

The Graduate Assistant supports the mission of Wiley University by fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging campus life. This part-time position plays a key role in the development, implementation, and assessment of student engagement initiatives. The graduate assistant will cover the front desk in housing and residence life, assist with room checks, lock outs, roommate conflicts/changes, and support student engagement programs and initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Foster a sense of belonging and engagement through residence life programming that reflects the diverse student population at Wiley University.
Manage event planning logistics including space reservations, marketing, budgets, and vendor coordination.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to support student-led initiatives and co-curricular learning experiences.
Supporting students in crisis and responding to their social and emotional needs.
Supervising an on-call team and serving in the on-call rotation.
Coordinating responses to follow-up with students in academic difficulty.
Directing residence hall programming.
Participating actively as a member of the student life team.
Establish office hours for the front desk in any residence hall.
Assist with conducting room checks;
Assist with lock out and charges.
Assist with student check-in and check-outs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in student activities, student leadership development, or campus programming.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and promote an inclusive campus environment.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Experience advising student organizations or student leaders preferred.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for student events.
