Department: Family Ministries

Reports to: Student Ministries Junior High Pastor | North

Status: Part -Time | Hourly

Schedule: Sun – Thurs | 28 hours

New Life Church's mission is to make disciples in the Pikes Peak region, by calling people to worship, connect and serve.  

            Job Summary:

To collaborate with families and volunteers to disciple 5th-6th grade students by calling them to worship, connect, and serve.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow and embody New Life Family Ministries Policies and Procedures and Family Ministry Values.
  • Attend all meetings required by Family Ministries leadership and New Life Church staff. (CORE meetings, Staff Meetings, Staff/Volunteer rally)
  • Cooperate with Family Ministry leadership team in development and implementation of the NLC volunteer pathway to attract, equip, and mobilize volunteers.
  • Plan, organize, and teach weekly 56 services.
  • Partner with Family Ministries leadership team to develop/plan/execute all Family Ministries events. (Kids Camp/Desperation Conference/Student Camp)
  • Plan and organize 56 events such as 56 discipleship and 56 hangouts.
  • Collaborate with 56 families to equip and support them as they minister at home.
  • Attend and support Junior High services weekly to create a bridge between the two ministries.
  • Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment of unity among our staff and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries and events of New Life Church.
  • Anything else the supervisor may need in association with this role within given weekly hours and workflow.

  • Knowledgeable of biblical theology and doctrine.
  • Adept at developing life-giving rapport with staff, volunteers and guests. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner. 
  • Highly motivated and self-starting “people person” offering confident leadership to the team. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully at all levels.

            Education and Experience:

EducationBachelor’s Degree or equivalent with experience

Experience: 1-2 years of related experience with previous experience managing staff and volunteers

Working Conditions and Requirements

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit and occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Close visual acuity to is necessary to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
