We are currently searching for a Social Media Specialist to join our team.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Social Media Specialist plays a key hands-on role in developing, capturing, and executing daily content across PHLCVB’s social media platforms. This position offers a highly creative and collaborative opportunity to contribute to platform content, live event coverage, short-form video, and digital storytelling, while also supporting digital operations, reporting, and department-wide projects.
The Social Media Specialist reports to the Social Media & Content Manager and works closely with the Director of Digital Content, agency partners, freelancers, and internal teams to support PHLCVB’s digital storytelling priorities that drive audience growth, brand engagement, meetings and conventions business, and global visibility.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Platform Content Development & Execution
- Capture, develop, and edit short-form video, stories, reels, and platform-native social content optimized for multiple platforms.
- Support daily management, scheduling, and publishing of social media content across PHLCVB’s owned channels.
- Monitor and engage with audience conversations on social platforms, flagging key opportunities or concerns.
- Assist with live event coverage, on-location content capture, and behind-the-scenes storytelling during meetings, conventions, FAM tours, events, and partner activations.
- Assist in building out paid social campaigns, including platform setup, audience targeting, and creative deployment.
Digital Operations & Departmental Support
- Pull, organize, and prep social media analytics reports; support measurement efforts across campaigns and platforms.
- Assist with digital asset organization, file management, and content library maintenance.
- Help load, schedule, and monitor content across social platforms, CMS tools, and scheduling platforms (Sprout Social, Monday.com, etc.).
- Provide support for agency coordination, influencer partnerships, and vendor management logistics.
- Assist with department-wide special projects, activations, partner support, and Marcom event needs.
Creative Collaboration
- Work closely with the Social Media & Content Manager and Director of Digital Content to brainstorm creative ideas and develop timely, culturally relevant content opportunities.
- Partner with the design team and freelancers on visual asset development.
- Monitor emerging social media trends and recommend creative platform opportunities for engagement.
