JOB PURPOSE:
REPORTS TO:
Foreman / Superintendent

DUTIES:

  • Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, rebuilds, constructs, and maintains woodwork

and other related structures.

PHYSICAL / MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Familiar with a variety of carpentry concepts, practices, and procedures within the

carpentry field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Familiar with tools, materials and supplies required to complete tasks.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
  • Directs and leads the work of others. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is

required.

  • Requires standard communication skills (written/verbal/reading).
  • Requires all hand-held tools and most power tools.
  • Able to lift and hold / move 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to solve advanced math principals to produce sufficient problem

solving for carpentry.

  • Able to traverse ladders (up and down including extension ladder), scaffolding

and roofs.

  • Must be able to read plans and specs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory

agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present
information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical

inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and
proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of on concrete

variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to
interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule
form.

OTHER SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge and experience with project plans, specifications,

construction industry standards and building codes.
