Job Summary: The role of Banquet Bartender is to provide an above and beyond service experience and to ensure that all guests are served beverages, alcohol and/or food in a timely, friendly, and high-quality way that follows safety procedures for serving alcohol during banquets. It is also the responsibility of the bartender to enrich the guests experience and always show genuine interest in their needs throughout the banquet.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review BEO with the designated Banquet Captain
  • Review the food & beverage menu with the Chef
  • Prepare all equipment, bar garnishes and alcohol
  • Ensure the bar is fully stocked and prepared for service
  • Ensure all bar materials needed to match the BEO are on hand
  • Greet all guests in a friendly manner
  • Check identification to ensure guests are of legal drinking age
  • Serve guests food and beverages adhering to State guidelines for alcohol safety
  • Work alongside and assist other banquet team members with event functions as needed
  • Wipe/clean all bottles, wells and surfaces
  • Clean up areas and event space
  • Break down all equipment and ensure everything is clean & sanitized
  • Prepare for next event accordingly
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs
  • One year bartending experience in a high-volume facility is preferred
  • Must have in person customer service experience
  • Extensive knowledge of a wide variety of drink recipes
  • Food Handlers Certification
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification
  • Must be at least 18 years old to serve alcohol

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate in basic English preferred
  • Detail oriented and thorough
  • Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests
  • Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards
  • Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant friendly way
  • Extensive knowledge of drink preparation or service
  • Ability to complete orders quickly and accurately

 

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
  • Must be able to stay on feet for entire shift
  • Must be able to continuously prepare beverages for long periods of time

 

Working Conditions:

  • Fast paced high volume bar
  • Indoor and/or outdoor depending on location
  • Exposure to a possibly noisy environment
  • Exposure to extreme heat or cold depending on season and location
