JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview

The Program Manager for the Data Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI) will lead the implementation and ongoing development of this strategic program designed to enhance data capabilities across UWMD partner organizations in North Texas. This role combines program management expertise with technical data skills to guide participating organizations in leveraging the Community Vulnerability Compass (CVC) and other data resources to improve community outcomes. This role will report directly to the Senior Director, of the Data Capacity Building Initiative.

 

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership (30%)

  • Support in overseeing the full lifecycle of DCBI cohorts, from participant selection to program completion
  • Track program deliverables, milestones, and outcomes
  • Support in the preparation of reports on program progress for stakeholders and UWMD leadership
  • Develop and refine program curriculum, training materials, and resources (as needed)

Technical Data Support (40%)

  • Provide hands-on guidance to organizations in accessing, interpreting, and utilizing CVC data
  • Support participants in developing data-informed strategies and program evaluations
  • Troubleshoot technical challenges related to data access and visualization
  • Create customized data analyses and visualizations to support participating organizations
  • Develop documentation and resources that translate technical concepts for non-technical users

Partnership Development (10%)

  • Collaborate with PCCI and other technical partners on CVC enhancements
  • Coordinate with other internal United Way initiatives to ensure alignment and integration

Strategic Development (20%)

  • Contribute to the long-term vision and strategy for scaling the DCBI
  • Identify opportunities for program enhancement and innovation
  • Support the development of the longitudinal study on vulnerability reduction
  • Representing the DCBI at conferences and external events (as needed)

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, public policy, social work, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in program management, preferably in nonprofit or community development settings
  • Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis tools and techniques (R, Python, SQL, or similar)
  • Experience with data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of program evaluation methodologies
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences

PREFERRED

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience working with community vulnerability indices or similar community data tools
  • Knowledge of collective impact approaches
  • Familiarity with the North Texas nonprofit landscape
  • Grant management experience
