Description

Under the general direction of the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of financial and accounting data in a variety of areas. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

  • Prepare and file monthly tax returns with various tax filings state, county and federal purposes  

  • Perform month-end general ledger closing activities including, but not limited to, preparation of various journal entries related to Fixed Assets, Banking, Revenue, Marketing, OCLE expenses, etc. 

  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis for review with Accounting Manager 

  • Analyze variances of monthly financial balances versus trending expected balances 

  • Support annual audit by providing support for workpapers, as requested 

  • Perform special projects, as required, to assist the department and the Company in achieving its goals and objectives 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. 

  • 2-3 years of related accounting experience with demonstrated progression. 

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Experience with Microsoft suite products with intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. 

  • Demonstrated relationship management and team oriented. 

  • Effective oral and written communication skills. 

  • Strong business acumen. 

  • Satisfactory background check. 

  • Experience with Business Central preferred.
