OVERVIEW
The IV Pharmacy Technician works under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. Pursuant to specific Board of Pharmacy defined technician tasks, which may include, accurately filling prescriptions, preparing Sterile Compounding medications, entering computer data, following standard procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Schedule: 3:30pm - 12:00pm, Monday through Friday with rotating weekends

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clean and maintain Sterile Compounding room and QA as per USP 797 guidelines for a state law as directed by supervisor
- Work under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, fill prescriptions and prepare Sterile Compounding according to Polaris standards of quality, customer service, productivity guidelines, and State Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Knowledge of Long Term Care
- Stage, Prep, and fill orders for residents at long-term care facilities and high-risk pregnant women
- Compound Sterile Compounding orders in a Class 100 clean room as directed by Pharmacists, IV Supervisor, and/or Director of Pharmacy
- Responsible for data entry
- Assist pharmacist with calling long-term care facilities
- Maintain, clean and account for pumps
- File, answer phones, and stock areas in the IV department as appropriate and directed by supervisor
- Work with Lead IV Technician to maintain a clean/safe work environment, check equipment for calibration, safety, and cleanliness
- Replenish and maintain Emergency Drug Kits (EDK) provided to Long Term Care Facilities
- Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA
- Communicate with the Pharmacist, Supervisor, or Lead Technician about any concerns regarding USP 797 and Operations
- Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code
- Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expected
- Other duties as assigned; Job duties may vary depending on business needs
