JOB SUMMARY:

The Pharmacy Clerk at Polaris Pharmacy Services will be responsible for supporting the pharmacy operations by assisting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the preparation and distribution of medications. The role involves managing inventory, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the pharmacy environment is clean and organized to facilitate efficient service delivery.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the preparation and dispensing of medications.
  • Manage inventory by stocking shelves, ordering supplies, and monitoring expiration dates to ensure medication availability and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prescriptions, transactions, and inventory levels.
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering inquiries, directing customers to appropriate resources, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organized, and adheres to safety and health standards.
  • Support the pharmacy team in administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and processing insurance claims.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve workflow and enhance the overall efficiency of pharmacy operations.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe and compliant pharmacy environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
  • Ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and products.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software relevant to pharmacy operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all regulatory and company policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations and state of practice.
  • Previous pharmacy experience preferred (one or more years of long-term care experience preferred)

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day

  • May be necessary to work extended hours as needed

HOLIDAY & PTO POLICY

  • Paid holidays are provided annually, with 6 days offered each year, along with 5 sick days.
  • Employees earn up to 10 PTO days each year, with rollover options and milestone bonuses.
  • Employees have the option to cash out up to 10 PTO hours each quarter for added financial flexibility.

Please note, because we are a pharmacy most of our locations are open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week and therefore schedules may change as determined by the needs of the business.
