Job Summary:
The Order Entry Supervisor is responsible for providing supervisory assistance to the Pharmacy Manager with the day-to-day management, production, and operation of the Order Entry department ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of prescription data.

 Duties/Responsibilities:
- Management of the order entry department to meet day-to-day operations in order entry, new and refill orders, customer service inbound and outbound calls, maintenance of current nursing home bed census, and pharmacy claims resolution
- Responsible for the hiring, training, and disciplinary functions associated with order entry, call center, and census personnel
- Responsible with achieving department goals in volume, production, quality, customer service, completion of daily order entry by run time deadlines
- Monitor staff performance for productivity, accuracy, and quality. Take appropriate steps to maintain staff performance levels are at or above standards to include retraining or performance improvement programs
- Prepare and conduct department’s employee performance evaluations, along with conducting coaching or warning sessions
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve operations including, but not limited to, cost reduction, productivity improvement, increased capacity, improved quality, enhanced service, and best practices workflows
- Coordinate with other departments to include, but not limited to, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and delivery and inventory control departments to achieve daily production and services goals
- Customer Focus - Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; get first-hand customer information and use it for improvements in products and services; talk and act with customers in mind; establish and maintain effective relationships with customers; gain customers’ trust and respect
- Participate in special projects or training to identify and implement operational improvements
- Able to work with others in a positive productive manner, anticipate, and respond to the position’s areas of responsibilities
- Comply and enforce all company and departmental policies and procedures
- Comply with all applicable state and federal regulations related to pharmacy practices
