APL Engineered Materials, Inc. manufactures specialty inorganic solid chemicals for use in conventional lighting, radiation detection and energy-related applications. We have an exciting opportunity for an entry-level Production Technician in Urbana, Illinois.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Production Technician to join our team and help us build high-quality products.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manufacture products to meet their specifications.
- Operate equipment including pumps, mixers, heaters, ovens, etc. throughout the facility.
- Works independently, records inputs and outputs diligently, replenishes consumables in the production areas.
- Maintain a neat work environment and assist others, as appropriate.
- Manage a safe and accident-free work environment by complying with all company safety rules while performing job duties.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills, analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational ability and documentation.
- Maintains punctuality and attendance.
- Strong safety and continual improvement mentality.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in a lab or manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is necessary.
