Job Summary:

  • The Applications Analyst supports the business goals and needs of the organization for all technical, application administration and operational aspects of core applications. The analyst will serve as a key technical subject matter expert in support of their application portfolio. This will include participation on key application related projects/teams, assessments of core technical/business applications, application administration, application functionality, application security, user management, data mapping and integrity, coding, training, upgrades and releases, and providing end-user support. This position is also responsible for working congruently with other departments in support of core business applications to support maximizing efficiency and capitalizing on the full features and benefits of all applications and systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Continuously improve applications that align with the technology and business strategy
  • Troubleshoot both process and technical issues as it relates to software and applications
  • Provide training to end users on all applications and manage all user groups and subgroups within those applications
  • Serve as a liaison with application vendors to discuss licensing, plans, and renewal terms so they can be discussed with other applications team members for aligning with organizational planning
  • Consult with senior applications analyst and applications development director to ensure application productivity and goals are being met
  • Schedule and attend daily and weekly meetings to discuss updates and progress on various projects that are incorporated in the applications and system management
  • Investigate and diagnose system errors that stem from application development to correct and minimize downtime
  • Communicate system and application functionality errors promptly
  • Manage moves, adds and changes to the application without interruption to end users
  • Manage system upgrades and test internal and external applications for any possible operational issues and changes
  • Testing and Q/A of internally and externally developed applications
  • Maintain, revise and update documentation of key databases and linked applications
  • Continually analyze applications to make sure they are meeting security protocols and compliance guidelines
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to maintain efficiency, consistency, and achieve successful outcomes
  • Serve all regions as point of contact and technical subject matter expert for all technical and functional aspects of applications
  • Create and enhance any operational initiatives that will improve service and increase quality
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service
  • Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization

 

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

  • Two (2)+ years experience supporting core business applications, required
  • Two (2)+ years experience as an application analyst or business analyst in a healthcare setting, preferred
  • Two (2)+ years experience in a project coordination/management or training role, preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

  • Travel: up to 25%. Travel may include weekends and some holidays.

  • Ability to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with sufficient grammar and spelling skills to avoid mistakes or misinterpretations
  • Interpersonal skills to support customer service, functional, and team needs
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Specialty knowledge of systems applications relating to job function (i.e. EMA, NextGen, etc.)
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines
