Position Summary:
Claflin University is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Nurse Educator to lead and support the CU DEEP Wellness Initiative—an institution-wide and community-centered health and wellness program. This role will serve as a champion for health promotion, disease prevention, and wellness education for the Claflin University campus and the broader Orangeburg community. The Nurse Educator will work collaboratively across departments and community partnerships to design, implement, and assess health education activities that promote long-term, sustainable health behavior change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health Education & Outreach
- Lead the development and delivery of educational programs that address prevalent health issues, chronic conditions, and wellness challenges affecting the campus and local community.
- Facilitate engaging health and wellness workshops, seminars, webinars, and on-demand learning opportunities on topics such as nutrition, mental health, physical fitness, and chronic disease management.
- Serve as a visible health and wellness resource to students, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Program Implementation & Engagement
- Partner with campus departments, student organizations, and community agencies to promote participation in CU DEEP Wellness programming.
- Use evidence-based practices to inform program content, delivery methods, and outreach strategies.
- Evaluation & Reporting
- Continuously assess program effectiveness through surveys, focus groups, and other feedback mechanisms.
- Collect and analyze data to monitor participation, outcomes, and impact.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on program activities, participation rates, and health outcomes.
- Compliance & Best Practices
- Ensure all educational activities comply with HIPAA, FERPA, and other relevant health privacy and safety regulations.
- Stay current with public health guidelines, emerging wellness trends, and industry best practices to enhance program relevance and impact.
