Job Title: Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science

Job Summary/Objective:
Sweet Briar College invites applications for a two-year, non-tenure-track position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science, beginning in Fall 2025. We seek candidates who hold a Ph.D. in Political Science and demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, and possess an active and ongoing research agenda.
The successful candidate will have broad teaching interests in American politics and be prepared to offer courses such as the American Presidency and Congress, Campaigns and Elections, and Conservative Political Thought. The standard teaching load is three courses per semester (3:3).
We are looking for an engaged teacher-scholar who is eager to contribute to the development of the Political Science program, willing to collaborate across disciplines, and mentor students pursuing careers in public service, law, and academia. A demonstrated commitment to working closely with undergraduate students on independent research is especially valued.
