Position Overview
Core Design The Designer works independently on assigned Level 1 projects, or as a member of a project team. The Designer has excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. They must have the ability to take both initiative and ownership of projects and be able to provide and accept practical feedback. The position requires a strong eye for design and in-depth knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat. Additional software as needed.
Explanation of Work Levels:
This position contains different levels of work, work level would be determined and discussed during the interview process based upon prior work experience.
- Level 1: Hyperfocus on maximizing efficiency while maintaining quality. Ex. Working within templates and established Brand Standards + Final Production
- Level 2: Hyperfocus on driving the correct level of visual communication to ensure quality and disruptiveness. Ex. Level 1 + Pushing the boundaries of established Brand Standards, creating new templates
- Level 3: Hyperfocus on driving the correct level of visual communication to ensure quality and the most disruptiveness. Ex. Level 1 and 2 + Creating new Brand Standards and pushing the boundaries of existing standards
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Produces all artwork according to Lead/Senior Designer specifications. Provides support for design and illustration, completing revisions and final production as required.
- Specializes in Level 1 projects and production work.
- Learns and works within designated brand standards.
- Works with other team members to concept and complete assigned projects and campaigns.
- Confirms all deadlines with Project Leader to ensure meeting deadlines.
- Reviews all work for errors/omissions before turning in work for routing.
- When applicable, generate proofs for routing by Senior Designer, Project Leader and Lead Designers.
- Makes all necessary changes/corrections promptly and correctly.
- Generates final production layouts before release. Follows final routing procedures.
- Produces mockups for presentations as required.
- Maintains and expands skill levels in software programs required to perform assigned job functions (InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop); takes training in using new design and illustration software as the agency requires.
- Assists in maintaining digital files, photography, illustrations, logo art, typestyles, materials and resources to assist other department members in locating necessary files and references.
