Serves as Safety Manger for the facility, and acts as the Satellite representative at all Safety Committee Meetings. Facilitates Safety discussions at all Satellite Safety Sub-Committee Meetings

Reviews the Satellite Safety and Disaster Manual at least annually. Updates policies and procedures as needed. Proposes updated policies and procedures to the Satellite Program Director and Agency Safety Committee for recommendations and approval

Supervises/assigns all emergency drills. Insures that drills are conducted according to policy, and that the frequency of drills is in accordance with Gateways policy and requirements of contract agencies

Coordinates with engineering the monitoring/maintenance of all facility emergency equipment, including the fire alarm system, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and panic button alarm system

Monitors the security of the facility by completing security rounds, assigning rounds to staff, and monitoring for completion of assigned rounds

Acts as a liaison to other departments such as Engineering, EVS, IT Support, EOC and Dietary Services to ensure the efficient and safe delivery of services.

Supervises facility sanitation by monitoring that the residential cottages, grounds, activity buildings and staff offices remain in compliance with contract agencies and licensing standards

Ensures compliance with all sanitation guidelines, including management of biohazards

Communicates with the treatment team regarding all clients who are unable to maintain minimum sanitation levels in their living spaces

Conducts monthly Community Care Licensing Hazard Detection/Surveillance Report. Reports all findings to the chief engineer.

Supervises the delivery of all maintenance services. Insures that requests for maintenance services are submitted in a timely manner, and monitors for completion of all requested services.

Acts as a liaison to IT Support to ensure working order of all equipment, including security cameras and fire alarms

Collaborates with EOC to ensure all staff are approved to drive vehicles and trained in the proper driving and safety procedures

Collaborates with Engineering to ensure the vehicles are well maintained in accordance with agency standards
-
Ensures vehicles are kept clean, organized, and have sufficient gas.

Provides Dietary Services with updated information on client dietary requirements and needed meals, snacks, and other dietary items.

Manages substance abuse testing (urinalysis and breathalyzer) for all facility clients. Ensures related supplies are stocked, packs and ships collected samples, reviews results, completes incident reports on positive samples, and reports issues to Program Director. Collects same sex, observed urine specimens for drug testing. Completes all assigned testing and collects suspect samples as necessary. Trains all paraprofessional staff in testing procedures and maintains quality assurance and training records.

Provides Program orientation for clients and completes client orientation information packet, which includes the following: Personal and Resident Rights, Consent for Treatment, House Rules, Treatment Team Members and Grievance Complaint Form.

Works effectively with clients who may be angry, hostile, or agitated. Handles periodic encounters with clients or others who may be psychotic, unstable, and/or intoxicated by alcohol or street drugs.

Schedules and monitors client house job list, restriction list and completion of extra duty assignments

Maintains key records for incoming and outgoing clients

Provides administrative supervision to the paraprofessional staff

Creates monthly schedule of staff to ensure sufficient coverage for all shifts

Provides training to all PPC staff to ensure they are equipped to effectively perform their duties.

Provides on call coverage for emergency consultation and intervention outside of regular work hours

Follows up to insure that supervisees are meeting required objectives and deadlines, and assists if necessary

Formally reviews and appraises the performance of supervisees annually

Assists in personnel actions, such as recruitment, evaluations and discipline

Responsible for consistent administration and enforcement of Administrative and Personnel policies and procedures with staff. Assists staff in understanding administrative decisions

Trains all staff members on search, security, and emergency procedures
-
Monitors/assigns the completion of person and property searches. Insures that all searches are conducted with the frequency indicated by contract agencies

Acts as a liaison to other programs such as CRTP, Wellness, and FCTP
-
Performs other additional related tasks as assigned.
