The Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric services to individuals enrolled in outpatient services at Volunteers of America Chesapeake and Carolinas. Is position in person with the availability to offer some telehealth services at our DC Hope Center location. This role focuses on serving adults and children living with serious mental illness (SMI), substance use disorder, co-occuring disorders who require structured outpatient care to enhance treatment adherence and recovery. While services are primarily delivered in an outpatient setting, the Psychiatrist may also conduct evaluations and provide treatment in community-based settings as needed. In addition, the psychiatrist will collaborate with the clinic administrator to support clinical and nonclinical staff in their training needs, provide input into CQI and policies for the CCBHC clinic, and represent VOACC in the community as needed. The position requires flexibility and responsiveness to the evolving needs of the population, including collaboration with courts, case managers, and community providers.Â

Serves as a key member of the outpatient multidisciplinary team, collaborating with case managers, therapists, legal representatives, and community partners to implement treatment plans that support compliance with court-ordered care.Â

Ensures the provision of billable services, including appropriate service authorization, timely clinical documentation, and reconciliation of services in suspense.Â
