Job Overview

This position reports to the Vice President of Consumer Lending. This role requires someone who is enthusiastic about educating and assisting our members with our services. As the Loan Center Manager for The Loan Center (TLC), your role is pivotal in overseeing the overall management and operation of the TLC department. You will assume responsibilities for overseeing underwriting, funding, loan servicing, title processing of direct consumer loans, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our members. Your primary focus will be on upholding compliance with lending policies, procedures, and regulations, all while providing leadership to the team. You will be an empowering mentor who will be:

Salary Range

$83,269.00-$124,903.00

 

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years lending experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of lending authority
  • Minimum 3 years managerial experience in lending or within the financial industry
  • Proven experience in lending operations within a credit union or financial institution.
  • Leadership experience with a focus on team development and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal abilities
  • Understanding of financial industry concepts, related laws, and regulations
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent interviewing, communication, and public relations skills.
  • Ability to work in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based applications

Role Description and Essential Duties

  • Plans, directs and monitors centralized lending operations, ensuring goals and objectives are met with respect to lending.
  • Stays abreast of changes in the industry, including introducing new systems, workflows, policies and procedures, to ensure The Credit Union remains on the leading edge of member service.
  • Focus internally on the division milestones, objectives, resources, products, improvements, procedures, and processes.
  • Monitoring and management of the Loan Center Portfolio.
  • Acts as liaison between the community and credit union loan.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Implement and enforce compliance measures to safeguard the credit union and its members.
  • Responsible for analyzing and preparing required reports accurately and timely for monthly board meeting, ALCO and management review
  • Assist Senior Management with development of lending policies and procedures.  Leads activity related to new product development and strategy.
  • Attends and participates in management team meetings.  Provides input and suggestions to management team and supports other team members to facilitate management decisions.
  • Daily loan file review of credit applications.
  • Develops internal training programs and implements policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure that loans are properly underwritten, processed, booked and funded in a timely manner. Ensures that all loan personnel are properly informed and trained on new regulatory developments impacting lending policies
  • Manage call ratio, identify trends, and schedule accordingly to meet member and Credit Union needs.
  • Conduct yearly performance appraisals and monthly 1:1 meeting(s). Track individual progress, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Monitors individual development and job performance of loan personnel to ensure quality of work and service to members. Provide ongoing evaluation and assess performance of all direct reports.  Actively guide and coach their performance with monthly meetings.
  • Administrator for Lending related systems. Monitor and ensure all lending systems are fully functional. Recommend new system to improve processes and efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with other internal departments to improve member experience.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for ongoing professional growth and learning.
  • Maintains loan forms and compliance issues including data processing
  • Works in conjunction with the Collection Department to conduct reviews loan portfolio performance and recommends remedial action
  • Develops budget, plans for and analyzes internal expenditures. Monitor Paycom and employee timesheets.
  • Other duties assigned
  • Complies with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) rules and regulations, in addition to Customer Identification Program (CIP). Attends required annual BSA training and required compliance training.
