The Cardiopulmonary Technician, reporting to the Cardiac Testing Coordinator, plays a crucial role in supporting the efficient operation of the Cardiopulmonary Department. Responsibilities include transcribing dictations, scanning reports into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, conducting electrocardiograms (EKGs) and electroencephalograms (EEGs), providing fit testing for staff, and ensuring smooth departmental workflow. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Â
- Transcribe dictations for Cardiopulmonary Services, including echocardiograms, stress tests, holter monitors, etc.
- Scan reports into the appropriate EMRs from various areas of the Cardiopulmonary Department, ensuring accurate documentation of EEGs, pulmonary function tests (PFTs), and cardiac testing reports.
- Utilize the digital dictation system to manage workflow and edit job assignments efficiently.
- Interact with departmental staff, physicians, and other departments to facilitate communication and collaboration.
- Answer telephone calls and distribute communications to departmental personnel promptly.
- Prepare and distribute specific instructions for outpatient testing, including reminder calls to patients as needed.
- Assist with clerical duties as requested, contributing to the smooth functioning of the department.
- Serve as the department receptionist, greeting and assisting patients, visitors, and families as they present to the desk.
- Relay messages and information accurately and promptly to appropriate personnel.
- Perform and record electrocardiograms (EKGs) for both inpatients and outpatients as required.
- Perform and record electroencephalograms (EEGs) for both inpatients and outpatients as needed.
- Conduct Respiratory Fit Testing for required staff members as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Cardiac Testing Coordinator or departmental leadership.
