Job Summary
The Buyer is responsible for owning the assortments of multiple classes, analyzing sales, and identifying areas of opportunity across their classes. They will own developing the assortment architecture strategy and deliver an assortment that is trend-relevant and has a strong price value for their assigned classes. They will keep a pulse on the latest trends, influencers, aspirational, and competitive landscape for their classes. They are also responsible for building strong CFT relationships, maintaining strong relationships with the vendor community, and identifying sales and consumer insight trends to increase revenue, profit, and market share.
This is a hybrid role out of our LA office, with in-office 3 days a week.
What You’ll Do

Ideate strategies for your classes, focused both on evolving your assortments and identifying any white space opportunities.

Create an assortment architecture and line plan that outlines a product roadmap for in-house development and third-party brands to provide the most premium product experience in the industry, hit revenue targets, optimize conversion, and maximize full-price sell-through.

Curate an assortment that aligns with Lulus' consumer profiles, is trend-relevant and delivers a strong price-value.

Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Cross Functional Partners (Development, Planning, Merchandising, Production and Marketing).

Partner with Planner to manage OTB and achieve KPI Targets.

Ensure the product line accurately represents the target customer.

Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors.

Scout new samples/vendors to recommend products to be sold on Lulus.com.

Depending on class structure, you will be responsible for supervising & mentoring Associate/Assistant Buyer(s).

Negotiate quality, quantity, and delivery with vendors.

Regularly communicate with Merchandising to align on what is communicated to marketing/content with stories/campaign ideas.

Track markdowns for aged merchandise.

Track and analyze best and worst selling styles, colors, and materials.

Partner with the Senior Director to curate an assortment to review with Leadership.

Ad Hoc projects and problem solving as requested from Senior Director and Leadership Team.

Travel as needed.
What You’ll Need

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant experience.

4-6 years of retail buying experience.

Experience in Buying Women's Apparel and/or Accessories.

Proven Track Record of Delivering KPI Targets and Market-share Growth.

Strong business orientation, analytical aptitude, and retail math knowledge.

Strong negotiation skills.

Thorough knowledge of trends and fashion.

Keen understanding of the Lulus customer.

Ability to make creative buying decisions to meet customer demand.
